Antony Micallef

Back To Artists

Ever since the cold war, when the heat went out on the family borsch business, little Antony has been obsessed by our relationship with the colic-inducing world of consumerism. His work explores this landscape of hypocritical sensibilities, and almost rejoices in the spiralling mass insanity surrounding it.

With his Carrollesque juxtapositions of girls and guns, he has assumed the position, alongside those other great doyens of zombie doom; Goya, Bacon and Hieronymus Bosch.

Sell out shows in London and Los Angeles, and a role in the 2008 autumn season at the Royal Academy, accompanied by exhibitions with the likes of; Banksy, Tracey and Mark, have also helped, if help where needed to establish his credibility.
